Reteaching and Retesting Recommendations

  • Reteach and Retest: All students scoring 59% or below will have the opportunity to retest.  When a student retests, the higher of the two scores is recorded in the gradebook. A retest assignment is created and all students who do not need to retest, get “no counted.” Of those students who took the retest, the lower of the two grades is marked as “no count”.  This will assure that only one grade will count for each student’s average.
  • Retests will be the same form as the original test. This may be a paper-based assessment. Quarterlies will not be retested.
  • If less than 70% of your class scores a 70% or higher then it is the expectation those standards will be retaught using differentiated instruction without compromising the pacing guide.
  • Only initial assessment grades are graphed. Retests are not graphed.
  • This policy does not apply to Social Studies and Science.
