I began my career as a second grade teacher at Wadsworth Elementary School. For the next 12 years I taught under Paula St. Francis at Rymfire Elementary. During my teaching career, I taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, both General Education and Exceptional Student Education (ESE) classes. In addition to teaching, I also provided Title One tutoring, assisted a dance club, taught Summer Reading Camp for our third grade students, and organized curriculum for 21st Century’s summer program. During the the summer months, I also traveled North Florida as a Florida Reading Initiative (FRI) trainer, training teachers in high yield, research based literacy strategies.
My career as a educational leader began last year when Dusty Sims hired me as an Assistant Principal for Flagler Palm Coast High School (FPCHS). I oversaw student services, the dean’s office, facilities, and our Multiple Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). This year I continue my service in public education as an Assistant Principal for Rymfire Elementary School, my home. I continue my passion for behavior by overseeing the dean’s office, facilities, student services including guidance and ESE, as well as instruction.
I believe every child will succeed, and education needs to be tailored to individual needs. I also believe that behavior needs to be taught, just like academics, and that every child requires different supports. I promise to support all students’ learning, both emotionally and academically, and support our dedicated teachers and families in making all students’ dreams a reality.
