Reteaching and Retesting Recommendations

  • It is recommended that all students scoring 59 or below have the opportunity to retest.  When a student retests, the higher of the two scores is recorded in the gradebook.  A retest assignment is created and all students who don’t need to retest, get “no counted.” Of those students who retested, the lower of the two grades is marked as “no count”.  This will assure that only one grade will count for each student’s average.

    • Retests will be the same form as the original test, but students will answer only the questions they answered incorrectly.  This may be paper-based assessment.

  • If less than 70% of your class scores a 70% or higher than it is the expectation those standards will be retaught using differentiated instruction without compromising the pacing guide.

  • Only initial assessment grades are graphed. Retests are not graphed.
